Anya Taylor-Joy may have had an unconventional wedding to her now-husband Malcolm McRae (hello, anatomically correct heart cakes), but that doesn’t mean she can’t embrace the role of a blushing bride in Cannes. The actor ditched her hardened, leather-heavy Furiosa method dressing for a sheer look that would be perfect for a French Riviera wedding? Vow renewal, anyone?
Taylor-Joy is attending the 77th Cannes Film Festival to promote her Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, but don’t expect her to channel her inner biker. Today, Taylor-Joy wore a piece from Simon Porte Jacquemus’s recent bridal collection, “Le Mariage”—a diaphanous strapless dress affixed with floral appliqués, complete with a dramatic train. Taylor-Joy made the look more seaside than alter with a pair of strappy white lace-up heels, and a large straw sun hat tied around her neck with a black ribbon.
The actor has opted for coastal glamour, donning dramatic sun hats and pastoral pieces. Upon her arrival in Cannes, she wore a burnt orange micro-pleated dress with a massive woven Jacquemus hat. She also made a concerted effort to revive the button-through skirt, which she paired with a pastoral Peter Pan-collared blouse. Today’s sheer wedding dress might just take the cake, though.
With all of these looks front-loading her Cannes appearance, we can’t wait to see what else Anya Taylor-Joy has up her sleeve.
