Now is that time of year when beauty gets really fun. Our skin has bounced back from the cold days of winter, and we've yet to reach the too-hot-for-makeup days of summer. So we're savoring this time by luxuriating in amazing skin-care products and putting new makeup to the test.
From the supercharged sheet mask our beauty director can't stop using to the tulip-powered moisturizer that I've been slathering all over, you can shop the beauty products InStyle editors are loving below.
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks
Buy Now $48
Over the years, Westman Atelier’s Baby Cheeks has been my go-to cream blush. It glides on like butter, and just a few swipes across my cheekbones instantly make my skin look healthier and more vibrant, thanks to its satin finish. I love how convenient yet luxurious the stick is, plus how flattering and adorably named each shade is, from dusty nude rose Petal to poppy pink Poppet (the secret behind Nicole Kidman’s lit-from-within flush at the Met Gala, btw). Oh, and there are currently two new spring-ready, limited-edition shades on offer: deep mauve Garçonne and bright pink Coquette. —Lauren Valenti, beauty director
Bloomeffects Royal Tulip Nectar
Buy Now $65
Last month, I spent two glorious days frolicking in Amsterdam's tulip fields, courtesy of Bloomeffects. As pretty as the tulips are, I learned that they're also incredibly resilient and lend their power to the brand's offerings. After learning tulips can grow up to two inches after being cut, founder Kim Van Haaster identified the molecule responsible and spun it into the brand's Dutch Tulip Complex. Since the trip, I haven't stopped slathering on the Royal Tulip Nectar. It's a gorgeous moisturizer with a balm-to-serum texture that's thick enough for slugging without leaving that greasy petroleum feeling. Because I have super dry skin, I've been using it as the last step in my routine day and night, and my skin slurps it up. —Kara Jillian Brown, beauty editor
Doft New York
Buy Now
Doft New York was meticulously and thoughtfully created by NYC-based double-board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Melissa Doft. Her inaugural skin-care line took years to develop, using new technologies, innovative ingredients, and rigorous clinical testing. The highly scientific approach led to three effective, potent, and luxurious products that produce lasting results. The repair mask, anti-aging serum, and antioxidant serum work on a timeline to help retain a youthful complexion—which, as a renowned plastic surgeon, she certainly knows a thing or two about. What you won't find in the formulas? Parabens, sulfates, dyes, or artificial fragrances. —Samantha Brash, director of content strategy
SK-II Facial Treatment Mask
Buy Now $30
There’s nothing like drenching your face in a cool sheet mask after a long day—and on this front, SK-II’s Facial Treatment has always been a true indulgence. It is, of course, supercharged with the Japanese brand’s proprietary Pitera essence, which is derived from fermented yeast and rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids. Together, they work to instantly brighten, hydrate, and plump the skin, while also boosting cell turnover to improve texture and fade dark spots over time. Whether I leave it on for ten minutes or overnight (I love massaging in the essence so it can work its magic while I sleep), I am left with totally refreshed and luxurious-feeling skin. —L.V.
Milani Color Fetish Hydrating Lip Stain
Buy Now $14
Lip stains were never really my thing—until I met this one from Milani. Typically, lip stains are drying, feel weird, and taste unsavory. This lip stain has a creamy, hydrating formula that's packed with hyaluronic acid and plant-derived squalane. Bonus: It tastes like vanilla. It goes on glossy and dries down to a semi-matte finish. Layer it on for a glossy look or blot post-application for that true stained look. —K.J.B.
iEnvy By KISS Press & Go
Buy Now $13
After trying lash clusters about a year ago, I've decided to retire strip lashes. Why? Because clusters are SO much easier to put on, which means I get a more seamless look. I particularly love the iEnvy lashes because they already have the glue. Just gently pull them off the plastic and press them on. I apply them under my lash line, which I find easier and more natural-looking than applying them on top of my lashes. —K.J.B.
Summer Fridays Rich Cushion Cream Ultra Plumping Moisturizer
Buy Now $52
Night after night, jar after jar, my perpetually parched skin drinks up this rich cream. The texture is extraordinary: It’s cushiony, yet lightweight enough to melt right in. Thanks to its trio of hydrating ingredients (glycerin, squalane, and saccharide isomerate)—plus plumping watermelon rind, lentil fruit, and apple skin extracts—it keeps my skin soft, moisturized, and firmer-looking. It’s a lovely night cream that’s especially great for sensitive skin like mine, as it’s fragrance-free and has the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. —L.V.
Quince 100% Mulberry Silk Pillow Cases
Buy Now $40
Laying my head down on my pillow at the end of the day is always a treat. It’s even sweeter when that pillow is encased in silk. The smooth fabric allows your hair to glide across your pillow with ease, assuaging any friction-related mishaps. The mulberry silk pillowcase from Quince is heavenly—and it’s only $40, less than half the cost of many of its competitors. I’ve paired it with my Quince Bamboo Sheets ($60 to $120) to have that soft and silky feeling all over. —K.J.B.
Ami Colé Skin Enhancing Sticks
Buy Now $29
Admittedly, I’d never tried a foundation stick before this one from Ami Colé. But it got me hooked. It has a gorgeous, creamy formula that leaves behind a smooth and skin-like finish. When I draw it on and blend it with the Complexion Brush ($20), the foundation melts into my skin. What I like most is how buildable it is—I keep the layers light on most of my face but then pack it on heavy over hyperpigmentation for an even finish. —K.J.B.
Bumble and bumble Sunday Shampoo
Buy Now $34
For years, Bumble and bumble’s Sunday Shampoo (forever obsessed with the name, a nod to the ultimate wash day) has been one of my go-tos for clarifying my scalp and hair when it needs a true reset. It’s a great first step in a double cleansing routine as it lathers—I love a lather—and breaks down product build-up. I also love the scent: a blend of floral cassis, sweet cyclamen, and cool mint leaf that offers a refreshing zing of aromatherapy. —L.V.
AERIN Mediterranean Honeysuckle Tiare Eau de Parfum
Buy Now $150
Bright and lush are the two words I'd use to describe this scent. I reach for it on the days when I want something light and airy, and it leaves me feeling like I've just stepped off the beach. This fragrance blends the tiaré flower with gardenia, grapefruit, and lemon for a scent that's equally refined and adventurous. —K.J.B.
