Va-va-voom.
Jennifer Lawrence might be the poster child for the quiet luxury trend, but that doesn’t mean sticking to the classics can’t be sexy. Case in point: J.Law brought the va-va-voom to the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards in a simple LBD that had both a plunging neckline and a dramatically high slit.
On Saturday, the actress attended the award ceremony held at the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan wearing black halter-neck gown that featured a sliver of skin traveling down to her belly button, a ruched waist, and flowing skirt with a thigh-high slit in the center. And when she turned around, the dress was completely backless and cut out at the sides. She accessorized with a coordinating black clutch, a trio of diamond hoops on each ear, and a pair of sleek black sandals.
Matching the Old Hollywood energy of her gown, J.Law styled her blonde hair in Veronica Lake curls with a sweeping side part and finished off her glam with glossy pink lips and sun-kissed skin.

At the event, Lawrence gushed over her "favorite musician and good friend Orville Peck” who received the Vito Russo Award.
“I love seeing so many humans who can top their field while still being power bottoms,” Lawrence joked per Billboard, before sharing a story about how she once fell in love with a gay man only to realize that her advances were for nothing. “Conversion therapy doesn’t work. Did you hear me, Mike Pence?” she said while calling out the former Vice President. “I said conversion therapy is not real–even though you think it worked on you.”
