Our frozen queen.
We’re calling it: Brie Larson just is one of the best dressed at the 2024 Met Gala. If not, just based on creativity alone.
Looking marvelous on the red carpet, Larson opted against snooze-worthy florals, instead leaning into the "Garden of Time" dress code with a custom Prada look that referenced the Italian fashion house's 2007 archives. Wearing two dresses in one, the actress layered a strapless orange pencil dress with gradient-style crystals underneath a sheer lilac crinoline petticoat that took on the shape of a melting ice cube. Larson finished off her ice-cube-core look with gold strappy sandals and an amber-colored cocktail ring on her index finger.
Her blonde hair was worn down, sleek, and straight with a middle part and tucked behind her ears, revealing a pair of dangling gold chain-link earrings below. A swipe of pink lipstick, rosy cheeks, and lit-from-within skin completed her soft glam.

And while the shape of Larson’s dress could be interpreted as an ice cube, it’s actually meant to signify an hourglass. “We wanted to lean into the visual representations that mark the passing of time,” Larson said of her gown’s inspiration while speaking with Vogue. “Sand falling through an hourglass, the changing colors of a golden hour sunset, and the dress itself is made through the dedication of the atelier—giving their time to this craft.”
