Here for the coquette detailing.
Shakira’s hips aren’t lying in her ab-baring second 2024 Met Gala look of the evening. Hours after posing on the Met Gala steps in a crimson Carolina Herrera gown paired with a matching cape, the “Whenever, Wherever” singer dialed up the cut-outs in a white after-party dress that featured a nod to the viral coquette trend. Shakira closed out her first Met Gala experience by heading out on the town in the skin-baring number, which was giving bridal lingerie vibes.
Accompanied by stars like Penelope Cruz, Chris Hemsworth, and Rita Ora, the “Punteria” singer was all smiles in the dramatic cut-out dress. The look consisted of a few basic elements: a small satin bralette connected to her skirt by sheer mesh panels and a small piece of satin fabric in the front and back. With her midriff on full display, Shakira also upped the drama—and the level of skin shown—with two hip-high slits on each side of her skirt. Long white ribbons embellished the front of her bra and each side of her thigh slits, adding feminine, lingerie-esque details to the after-party outfit.
She complemented her outfit with a chunky silver necklace, sky-high thigh-grazing black boots, and a matching black purse with a silver chain handle. Shakira's beauty look was effortlessly beachy, featuring voluminous mermaid waves and a light pink lip.
Earlier on in the evening, her red dress—a nod to the 2024 Met Gala theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Awakening Fashion”—also featured subtle side cut-outs. The strapless number featured a plunging neckline accentuated with a blinged-out bauble at her chest and an accompanying cape that was designed to look like a rose.
