Straight out of a fairytale.
Lana del Rey’s return to the 2024 Met Gala is nothing short of triumphant.
Fresh off the heels of a headlining spot at Coachella, the "Video Games" singer showed up at fashion's biggest night for the first time in years, wearing quite the show-stopper. Encased in a full-body nude veil that evoked a butterfly net, she fully embodied "The Garden of Time" dress code with nods to nature and storybook magic.
Her floor-grazing nude gown, designed by Alexander McQueen Creative Director Seán McGirr, was covered in tree branches straight out of a fairytale. The dress's sweetheart neckline, matching branch-covered headdress, and single rose attached to her left sleeve completed the Beauty and the Beast nod. The entire look, of course, was covered in ethereal nude netting that draped at her waist and cascaded into a train at the back of her gown.
For makeup, the singer stuck to her usual go-tos. Her signature brown-nude overlined lips were in attendance, as was her usual soft sculpt. She also went for her favorite dark cat-eye flick and a generous helping of mascara for her eyes. As for the hair, Del Rey swapped out her retro Old Hollywood curls for some romantic Disney princess-worthy waves pulled back from her face.
The last time the "Born to Die" songstress showed up for the first Monday in May, she accompanied Gucci's then-creative director Alessandro Michele in a cream-colored Gucci dress with gold accents that included an arrow-pierced gold heart at her chest. A bright blue feather crown completed the look, in keeping with the "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination" theme.
