Wall-to-wall florals.
Demi Moore has arrived at the 2024 Met Gala, and just as she does with every outing, she reminded us that she is—and always has been—that girl. There isn’t a single fashion trend or theme the star can’t nail, from dressing like a literal swan to showing everyone how the sheer trend is done. And, for fashion’s biggest night, she served up what might be her most unexpected look to date.
For her interpretation of the "Garden of Time" dress code, the Ghost actress made a captivating entrance in a dramatic Harris Reed creation. Her three-dimensional velvet dress featured a corset bodice, a center slit up the back, structured hips, and rounded silk panels that protruded from her shoulders, creating a heart-shaped silhouette. To up the ante even more, the dress was lined with dozens of arrows as if Moore had been struck by Cupid and emblazoned with massive pink peony illustrations, which Reed revealed were made from vintage archival wallpaper. For a softer, feminine touch, wispy white flower petals flowed off of the skirt.
To add to the grandeur and prove diamonds are indeed a girl's best friend, Moore accessorized with a gorgeous diamond- and emerald-encrusted necklace and matching statement earrings from Cartier's High Jewelry collection, Nature Sauvage. She wore her shiny dark locks down and straight behind her with a middle part and glammed up with rosy, radiant makeup.
This marks Moore's first time back to the prestigious event in five years. She last attended in 2019, when the gala was themed "Camp: Notes on Fashion," when she went classic and sleek in a sweeping inky-black gown that featured sharp square shoulders and a daringly low V-neckline that plunged all the way down to her navel. That time, she accented her look with a long, dangly silver necklace, wore a shimmery smoky eye, and styled her tresses in soft waves.
