Every year, the Met Gala draws an A-list crowd to the famed Metropolitan Museum of Art. The affair is known as one of the most exclusive parties in the world (though the main purpose of the gala is to raise funds for the museum’s Costume Institute).
Over the years, there have been many different Met Gala themes—ranging from 2011’s “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty”,” which celebrated the life and legacy of the late designer, to the “Camp”-themed affair more recently in 2019, which saw stars embrace their most flamboyant and peacock-worthy ensembles. The 2024 theme, meanwhile, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” will spotlight The Met’s new exhibition of the same name. Approximately 250 items drawn from the Costume Institute’s permanent collection—some of which have rarely ever been seen in public—will be displayed in entirely new ways using CGI, AI, soundscaping, and more.
While scoring a ticket to the Met Gala is, well, not so easy, it’s fun to imagine which past Met Gala best suits your personality. And now you can find out.

Do you consider yourself rebellious and edgy? You’re likely 2013’s “Punk.” Or are you more spiritual and moody, channeling the “Heavenly Bodies” year in 2018?
