Selena Gomez is not about to wear a pantsuit to work.
Today, Gomez hosted the third annual Rare Beauty Mental Health Summit in New York City, which featured a conversation with United States Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy. Instead of leaning into traditional businesswoman attire of a skirt suit and sensible shoes, she opted for a sweet, summery dress. But with a statement shoulder and nude pointy-toe pumps, the entrepreneur did power dressing on her own terms.
She wore an ivory midi dress from Maticevski. The shiny cotton-blend dress from spring 2024 featured a sculptural band of stiff fabric encircling her shoulders, a cinched waist, and an asymmetrical hemline. The Only Murders in the Building star kept accessories simple, sticking to a gold theme. She wore a pair of hoop earrings, a couple rings, and a gold bangle.
Gomez has adopted her own form of workwear, befitting a beauty entrepreneur. For the Time100 Summit at the Lincoln Center last week, Gomez leaned into power leather in a skintight Brandon Maxwell dress. Now, she’s showing that a white cotton dress with a collarbone-forward silhouette fits right into her Platonic Ideal of an office.
