Dua Lipa knows when she has a good thing going. The singer hit the Time100 Most Influential People Gala at New York City’s Lincoln Center last night wearing a dress that echoes one of her most memorable looks from this past awards season.
The singer, who performed at the star-studded gala, tapped Chanel to create a custom look for the occasion. The semi-sheer, embellished lace dress featured a plunging neckline and a bellybutton cutout, and (in true Chanel fashion) a large black bow just below her sternum. Dua took advantage of the décolleté-baring dress to wear a diamond necklace that dripped down her chest.
With the silver tones, deep V-neck, and cutouts, the Time100 dress brings us back to the custom Courrèges dress that Dua wore for the 2024 Grammys. But while the fringed, metallic chainmail for the music industry awards show allowed her to channel her inner rockstar, her Time dress was a sleeker, coquettish take on the winning silhouette. Still, both dresses underscore the codes of the singer’s Radical Optimism era: silver and sexy. You know what they say: If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Dua Lipa seems to be living by that rule.
