A stylish game of peek-a-boo.
Dua Lipa is upping her game of fashion peek-a-boo. When exposing your midriff alone loses its shock value, it’s time to raise the stakes—and the pop star is betting it all on the belly button.
On Thursday, Lipa attended the 2024 Time100 Gala in New York City while wearing a custom Chanel dress that was embroidered with crystals and aluminum rings in a floral lace pattern and featured an extreme plunging neckline pointing to a belly button cutout below. Tiny but mighty, her gown's navel opening was accentuated by a black bow and a white resin brooch that was reminiscent of the baubles presented at Chanel's Métiers d’Art 2024 show in Manchester, England last year.
Lipa accessorized with a diamond necklace, a smattering of dainty diamond rings, and a pair of black strappy heels, which were visible via a slit in the back of her dress. Her red hair was blown out in loose waves, and she finished off her glam with rosy cheeks and pink lips.
At the event, Lipa was one of the 51 women featured in the 2024 Time 100 list, which recognizes 100 leaders in film, music, sports, and more. The honor came ahead of the release of her third studio album, Radical Optimism, on May 3.

In her Time100 interview, Lipa revealed how her music has changed with her over the years. “The record as a whole is more mature,” she said. “I’m definitely not the same person I was when I wrote my first album. I’ve evolved and learned so much… taking it as it comes, not seeing anything as bad or something as a setback. That involves a lot of growing and understanding myself, knowing my worth, whether it be in business, love, or friendship.”
She continued, “I'm just a different person, so of course this record is going to be different. I have different thoughts, wants, needs, and perspectives. I've done a 180 on myself… I feel the most confident at this point in my life.”
