It's hydrating without a heavy, greasy feel.
I’d hardly consider myself a lazy person — especially not in the skincare domain. That said, I do pay considerably less attention to the skin below my chin than I do the skin on my face, mostly because I’m averse to the occlusive feel and greasy application experience that body lotion often entails. It wasn’t until I discovered hands-free, mistable body moisturizer that I began hydrating my limbs with the moisture they deserve. Most recently, I’ve incorporated the Water Balm Spray-On Moisturizer from Hanni, a brand Bethenny Frankel uses, into my routine — and it’s the best I’ve tried, both from an experiential and efficacy standpoint.

The Hanni Water Balm Spray-On Moisturizer is a deeply hydrating mist that quenches thirsty skin on the limbs and torso. The spray is an alternative to traditional body lotion, and is devoid of the often greasy, heavy feel of many body cream formulas. Furthermore, unlike traditional body creams, the lightweight mist is residue-free and notably fast-absorbing.
Another key difference between Hanni’s spray-on formula and a regular cream, of course, is its application method. Instead of using your hands to dip into a jar of cream-based formula — which, IMO, is uncomfortably greasy on the palms — Hanni’s mist-based moisturizer presents a hands-free option for hydrating dry body skin.
To use, I spray a few pumps of the product directly onto damp skin post-shower or bath, pat myself dry with a towel as per usual, and slip into clothes moments later — without any worry of staining my silk skirts or other delicate items with residue, as I have with rich, cream-based lotions. If, throughout the day, my skin becomes dry, or I’m simply craving a re-up on glistening hydration, I spray the mist directly onto dry skin for another dose of quenching, skin-smoothing satisfaction.
Despite its lightweight nature, the Hanni body mist is, nevertheless, incredibly hydrating — just as hydrating as most traditional body creams, in fact. Key ingredients include glycerin and hyaluronic acid, both of which are humectants, and thus attract moisture from the air and into the skin.
I’d be remiss not to mention the body mist’s scent — a blend of pink pepper and palmarosa notes — which, together, exude an air of expensiveness, and could very well replace perfume in a pinch. Subtle and sultry, it’s delightful enough to compel my consistency using the product — which is more than I can say for quite literally any other body care formula I’ve used.
For smooth, radiant skin this spring, summer, and beyond — sans slapping on greasy, occlusive body creams — shop Hanni’s Water Balm Spray-On Moisturizer. It’s not only easier and significantly less messy to use — it’s the most enjoyable body hydrator I’ve ever experienced.
