Shoppers say it “dramatically” improves wrinkles.
My grandmother used to tell me that if I kept contorting my face it would get stuck like that. While that’s not exactly what happened, I am prone to exaggerated facial expressions and I am noticing fine lines forming and a loss of plumpness around the muscles I use most. One of these problem areas is my eyes. Faint lines are forming from a combination of (I assume) smiling, laughing, and squinting when I don’t have my glasses on. I would like to prevent them from becoming deep and permanent lines, but I didn’t know where to start. I felt stuck between two poles — one for middle-aged shoppers dealing with relatively accelerated signs of aging, and one for teenagers/people in their early 20s who don’t have to worry about it all. Dermatologist Dr. Dendy Engelman, MD, has saved my skin more than once, so I reached out to her for her expert advice. She recommended RoC’s Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream.

“It’s very common to start seeing signs of aging in your mid to late 20s. Usually, the first signs are faint lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, which are the most dynamic areas of the face,” Dr. Engelman says. Starting treatment at this age will help you in the long term; prevention is the best cure, after all.
Dr. Engelman says it’s important to incorporate retinol into your skincare routine at this age, which is why recommends RoC’s Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream. Her recommendation is not surprising; the brand is a favorite among shoppers as well as celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Vera Wang. This eye cream has 19,000-plus five-star ratings and is formulated with retinol and glycerin. The former, Dr. Engelman says “is the gold standard of anti-aging skincare… it stimulates cell turnover, boosts collagen production, signals cells to act younger and healthier, and more.” It also contains glycerin, one of the most hydrating ingredients out there. It creates long-lasting plumpness by continually circulating moisture from deep inside the skin to the outer layers.
The dermatologist’s recommendation and the affordable price already had me pretty convinced, but the shopper reviews sealed the deal. A shopper called this a “magical eye cream” for “dramatically” reducing wrinkles and dark circles. But, they advised being realistic about the time frame “it’s a marathon, not a sprint.” Another reviewer saw a “major improvement” in their dark circles (another thorn in my side) and added that it “goes on super smooth” under makeup.
