Does Kendall Jenner have a political career in her future? With her sharp suit—and imposing security detail—Jenner looked positively presidential yesterday at a meeting in Los Angeles.
The FJOTUS (First Jenner of the United States, naturally) wore a Bottega Veneta power suit that may not fly on Capitol Hill, but totally works for the President of Calabasas. The jacket’s robe closure, super cinched waist, and deep V-neck (sans undershirt), plus the matching wide-legged trousers, offered a chic take on office wear. She furthered the NSFW “office siren” suiting with a pair of sensible black leather pumps. Jenner accessorized her stately outfit with a pair of chunky gold earrings and slim black sunglasses. In the place of the nuclear football, Jenner carried a statement-making purse: the Bottega Veneta Kalimero Città bag, an orange purse crafted with the brand’s signature intrecciato leather, and the latest Bottega bag on the market.
The model has been repping Bottega regularly since last year when she starred in what turned out to be a guerrilla marketing campaign alongside A$AP Rocky. The whole ordeal raised the question of authentic celebrity style, and what it means when a brand can buy a (paparazzi-friendly) star’s wardrobe. So whether this is another instance of spon-con or Jenner just simply likes the look, is between her and God—and the Federal Trade Commission. Though, we can only imagine that under the Kendall Jenner Administration, the FTC’s ad disclosure laws would face some scrutiny.
