In case you haven’t heard, Camila Cabello is in her hyperpop era. As the popstar manual decrees, with every new era must come a new look.
In honor of her latest song “I LUV IT,” (whose chorus aptly goes, “I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it / I love it, I love it, I love it / I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it / I love it, I love it, I love it”) Cabello borrowed a page from Dua Lipa’s style book, transforming her hair from jet black to platinum blonde. Now though, she’s showing us what this genre exploration is doing for her personal style, too.
Last night, Cabello, joined by her mother and sister, stepped out for dinner at LA hotspot The Nice Guy in an outfit that marks a departure from her usual style. The singer wore an oversized olive green jacket featuring a shearling body, double zipper, and ribbed sleeves, collar, and waistband. Worn as a dress, she added a pair of sheer black tights tucked into a pair of eye-catching boots that continued the mixed media theme. The black leather shoes with a blunt, square toe are encased in a brown faux fur leg-warmer of sorts and are made by Moldova-based, Azerbaijani designer Fidan Novruzova, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, and a 2024 LVMH Prize semifinalist. Cabello let her statement boots do most of the talking, although she did accessorize with a leather choker that clasped around her throat like a belt buckle.
In terms of both music and style, we’re curious to see what else Camila Cabello has in store for her hyperpop era. If anything, expect lots more fur.
