Plus, take 25 percent off sitewide at Madewell.
The changing weather has not only made me feel like I need to overhaul my entire wardrobe, but also that my skin and hair care routines could use a refresh. Fortunately, a number of retailers have launched pre-spring sales that are helping me do just that — and affordably.
Madewell officially launched its bi-annual Insider Event where everything is 25 percent off (yes, including leather!). I’m using the opportunity to stock up on wardrobe staples like denim and classic tees, but for dressier pieces, I’m heading over to J.Crew, where elevated items are up to 50 percent off as part of its Dressed-Up Sale. In terms of beauty, there are two sales I’m shopping this weekend: At Act + Acre, everything — including the brand’s famous regrowth serum — is 25 percent off, while at Amazon, celebrity-favorite skincare and makeup starts at just $8.
- Madewell Insider Event: 25 percent off sitewide
- J.Crew Dressed-Up Sale: up to 50 percent off
- Act + Acre Spring Sale: 25 percent off sitewide
- Amazon Celebrity-Used Beauty Sale: deals starting at $8
Shop everything I’m eyeing from each sale, below.
25% Off: Madewell Northside Vintage Tee
Buy on Madewell.com $18 $14
Madewell Insider Event
- Northside Vintage Tee, $14 (Originally $18)
- The Beverley Mary Jane Flat, $104 (Originally $138)
- Superwide-Leg Jeans, $104 (Originally $138)
- The Essential Bucket Tote, $134 (Originally $178)
Madewell’s recently launched spring collection — which I want all of — is now all 25 percent off as part of the Insider Event, which you need just an email to access. The first thing I add to my cart during any sitewide sale is the brand’s best-selling Northside Vintage Tee — something I learned from customers while working at the store. It’s the perfect lightweight white T-shirt that rarely goes on sale and, at 25 percent off, is now just $14. Of course, a pair of jeans are also immediately being ordered, and this time around, I’m eyeing these Superwide-Leg Jeans that customers have called “amazingly soft” and “perfect” for spring.

This is also a great time to finally grab one of the brand’s famous leather pieces, which are typically excluded from sales. I’m personally obsessed with this chic leather tote that’s practical and “goes with everything,” according to shoppers. I’ve also been eyeing these Mary Janes since they dropped, which feature a timeless, flat silhouette with a modern buckled strap for a little edge. “The leather is buttery-soft and molds to your feet,” raved one fan.

Now that I’m looking at all four Madewell finds together, I think I might have just put together my go-to spring outfit.
50% Off: J.Crew Denim Midi Skirt
Buy on Jcrew.com $128 $65
J.Crew Dressed-Up Sale
- Denim Midi Skirt, $65 (Originally $128)
- Gwyneth Slip Dress, $80 (Originally $98)
- Addison Stacked-Heel Loafers, $100 (Originally $198)
- Crochet Cropped Cardigan Sweater, $120 (Originally $198)
For elevated staples, I’m shopping J.Crew’s Dressed-Up Sale, where some of the brand’s best-selling (you guessed it) dressed-up pieces are up to 50 percent off. This denim midi skirt, now just $65, is one of my favorite items from the sale because I could wear this with a white T-shirt and sneakers and feel more put-together than I would with a standard pair of jeans. But, personally, I want to style it with this crocheted cardigan that’s 40 percent off and a pair of strappy black heels.
Buy on Jcrew.com $198 $120
A classic, slinky slip dress will always be in for spring, and select colors of the Gwyneth style are now just $80. According to fans of this dress, it’s “so flattering,” explaining that it “moves with your body and skims your figure in a very pretty way without being too tight.” Not to mention, the spring colors, including a lustrous green and baby blue, are truly perfect. Another spring staple I’m eyeing during the sale are these half-off heeled loafers, which are sleek, sophisticated, and “very walkable,” according to shoppers.

25% Off: Act + Acre Stem Cell Scalp Serum
Buy on Actandacre.com $86 $65
Act + Acre Spring Sale
- Fulvic Acid Volumizing Dry Shampoo, $20 (Originally $26)
- Vitamin E Scalp Detox Oil, $36 (Originally $48)
- Microbiome Cooling Scalp Serum, $51 (Originally $68)
- Stem Cell Scalp Serum, $65 (Originally $86)
Act + Acre, a trichologist-founded hair care brand that’s been used by celebrities, is offering 25 percent off everything through March 17. If you’re not familiar with Act + Acre, I’d recommend starting with the Stem Cell Scalp Serum. According to one shopper, this hair-growth treatment reduced their fallout and thickened their hairline in just a few weeks, while another person who said that it regrew thinning spots described it as “soothing and hydrating.” And if your scalp could use even more TLC, the Microbiome Cooling Scalp Serum is a shopper-favorite.

Other staples of the brand include this detox oil, designed to decongest your scalp for less dryness and flakes, as well as the Fulvic Acid Volumizing Dry Shampoo, which is loved by more than 500 shoppers who say that it’s light, absorbent, and doesn’t leave a white cast.

Though not an official sale, Amazon has marked down tons of celebrity-approved beauty items, from skincare to makeup. For just $8, you can grab the illuminating primer that Martha Stewart uses to achieve an all-over glow. And on-sale for $9 is CeraVe’s Healing Ointment, which Emily Ratajkowski once said she “can’t live without.” “It’s skincare, it’s…a glossy lip…I’ll put this under my eyes on a plane or before I go to bed,” she explained.
Buy on Amazon $11 $9
Weleda’s Skin Food Moisturizer, which has been used by more celebrities than I can count (but here’s just some: Julia Roberts, Adele, and Victoria Beckham) is now $15. This rich moisturizer is super nourishing, especially for dry skin, making it the perfect base for makeup, according to Hailey Bieber. Another great deal is on this Jennifer Garner-used retinol oil from Neutrogena, which boasts more than 6,400 five-star ratings and is currently 39 percent off.
