They’re my go-to for overseas travel and 15-hour days.
I travel a lot. I walk a lot. And sometimes, I deal with 15-hour days (yikes!) where I’m out of my apartment from 8 a.m. to late into the evening hours. I’ve made the mistake of wearing new-out-of-the-box shoes for such days, and let me tell you, I simply will not do this ever again. Maybe it’s because I’ve gotten older and placed more importance on comfort and foot health than “style,” or maybe it’s because I’ve actually found a shoe that doesn’t hurt straight-out-of-the-box and looks cool, but regardless, Cariuma’s famous white leather Salvas sneakers have, plain and simple, improved my life tenfold.
I’ve waxed poetic about this particular style before, but I’m once again prompted to scream from the rooftops (err, write with utter enthusiasm), about how amazing these shoes are after seeing none other than Brooke Shields wearing them. The actress was photographed at the Austin airport wearing the coolest travel look that I am now itching to recreate. She wore baggy white trousers that had a subtle track-inspired look to them because of the contrasting side panel. So cool! She styled the pants with an oversized, cream-colored turtleneck sweater (another must-have on a plane), and rounded out the look with a black crossbody bag and those white Cariuma Salvas that should be in your online shopping carts, stat.

Travel calls for the most comfortable of shoes, so simply seeing Shields in the sneakers at the airport already speaks volume about the Salvas’ impeccable design. After all, you don’t reach for tight, constricting, uncomfy footwear when you know you’ll be in it for hours at a time, which is often the case when you board an airplane. Salvas sneakers require zero break-in time (something I can personally attest to), which means you can wear them comfortably for hours right out of the box. This isn’t always the case with other shoes; most white sneakers I’ve tried in the past tend to feel stiff and tight, feeling comfy only after days of wear.
With Salvas, you don’t have this problem. They’re made from a soft, supple leather from LWG-certified Gold Rated tanneries, which means it’s not only easy on your feet, but easy on the environment, too. But the comfort doesn’t stop there:The sneaker also has a cork and bio-based foam insole that feels like you’re walking on clouds, plus a slip-resistant, fully stitched outsole that ensures durability and a longer life span. That’s why I’ve been wearing my same pair for months. And TBH, they still look new.
Shields isn’t the first celeb to be spotted in the famous Salvas and she certainly won’t be the last; Alexandra Daddario wore the leopard version back in 2022, while other celebs have opted for the brand’s best-selling OCA styles.
That said, I firmly believe that Savas are the G.O.A.T, so no wonder they keep selling out. Shop the styles that are currently in stock before Shields makes them go out of stock (again).
