Kylie Jenner was in her pocket last night at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, where she rocked an ultra-sexy look. The reality star and entrepreneur wore a vampy made-to-order Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress.
The Bordeaux-colored dress was made of impressively tailored, body-hugging chainmail that clung to Jenner’s every curve. (Versace also pulled out some impeccable chainmail work, dressing both America Ferrera and Margot Robbie in the finicky metal.) As if the shimmering metallic fabric wasn’t enough sparkle, the plunging sweetheart neckline, straps, hem, and empire waist were all lined in rows of red rhinestones. But one area where Jenner opted to be a little more conservative was the dress’s opacity. Unlike the sheer iteration that appeared on the runway, Jenner’s seemed much more solid, leaving the sheer looks to the rest of the attendees.
A white flower motif bloomed over Jenner’s hips and waist. The crystal encrusted florals were a nod to Robert Mapplethorpe’s sensual Flower photo series. The fresh-off-the-runway dress was look 10 from LdSS’s fall 2024 New York show, which was made in collaboration with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation.
The dress, with its décolletage-baring neckline and its historical backstory, were an excellent choice for Jenner’s sirenesque look. With her wet hair that fell over one eye, and glowing skin, she looked like she could lure a ship of men to their deaths without so much as lifting a finger.
