Shoppers say the shoes feel like “walking on clouds.”
My mom, an elementary school teacher who spends all day on her feet, always knows about the best sneakers before I do. She was on the Hoka train well before me and, while out shopping over a year ago, told me that On’s ultra-light sneakers were allegedly just as good. And I’m here to report, she was once again spot on.
After lacing up a pair of On’s Cloud sneakers for a run, I became an immediate convert. The style is cushioned without being heavy and offers just the right amount of support: flexible but I don’t feel every crack in the sidewalk under my feet. Knowing how much I adore the shoes, I was pretty unsurprised to find out I’m not the only one. Stars including Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bündchen have repeat-worn the brand’s sneakers, and according to recently-released data from Google, search interest in On shoes reached new heights in 2023.
While I’m loving sexy kitten heels and sophisticated loafers for spring, what I know I’ll inevitably reach for the most often is a pair of comfortable sneakers. So I found six styles from On that shoppers love, including running, walking, and everyday shoes.

Bündchen has spotted in the brand’s popular Cloud 5 running shoes, which boast more than 2,200 five-star ratings between Nordstrom and Zappos. This style is specially designed for athletic activity, with a cushioned yet springy insole and a breathable mesh exterior that allows for airflow, but nurses note that they’re perfect for long shifts on their feet. According to one who stands up to 12 hours a day, their “feet literally don’t feel like they’re hitting the ground,” with these shoes, adding their “legs, feet, and back don’t hurt at the end of [their] shift.” Plus, the shoes feature elastic laces that one shopper who was experiencing swollen, sore feet said made them a breeze to take on and off.

If soft, springy support is your top priority, the brand’s Cloudmonster sneakers are a must. These take the cushioning of the Cloud 5 sneakers to new levels and feature a tall, porous outsole designed to soften steps while propelling you forward. A number of wearers with foot pain deemed these a must-have, with one person who was suffering from a “debilitating” plantar fasciitis flare up writing that these were the first shoes to offer them relief. And per another fan, “I can walk, run and do everyday errands without feeling my bunions or plantar fasciitis.” And as far as working out goes, one person said that these are “best running shoes” they’ve ever owned, noting that they’re “lightweight yet supportive,” with just the right amount of structure to prevent injury.

While most of On’s sneakers feature an athletic silhouette, the Roger Advantage tennis shoes are perfect for everyday life, with a classic, slightly more elevated vegan leather design. But despite taking the look up notch, these don’t forfeit comfort. One person who described them as “truly feeling like…walking on clouds,” said that the style can be worn with leggings, sweats, and even cute dresses thanks to the timeless look while another deemed them “adorable and so extremely comfortable.” “Super comfy, very supportive…[and] I get compliments every time I wear them,” gushed another fan.
Between celebrity approval and spikes in Google searches, it’s looking like On’s famous sneakers might just be spring’s hottest item. Shop more staples from the brand, below.
