It’s only March, but we’ve already witnessed what are sure to go down as some of the most memorable red-carpet moments of the year, all thanks to the Dune: Part Two press tour. Overseen by her longtime stylist Law Roach, Zendaya’s wardrobe has been nothing short of extraordinary, spanning from rare vintage Thierry Mugler and Alexander McQueen’s Givenchy to pieces by the industry’s most exciting emerging talents, such as Torishéju Dumi. The tour is over, but Z and Law are still pulling out all the stops on the red carpet.
For the Essence Black Women In Hollywood event this week, Zendaya chose another head-turning archival outfit. This time, a striking silver corset top adorned with intricate metallic floral lace details, paired with cropped blue jeans. She also wore statement silver accessories: a choker, bangles and a medallion belt layered over a skinny leather belt. Fashion aficionados might recognize this look as a gem from Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 2020 couture collection–his last after five decades of designing under his eponymous label. The star topped it all off with white leather pumps and still more silver rings and bracelets from Bulgari.
All of this vintage is a tantalizing taste of what might be to come on Sunday, when Zendaya will attend the Oscars. After that? Her film Challengers–in which she stars with Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist, with none other than Jonathan Anderson on costumes–is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to see what Zendaya and Law have up their sleeves.
