Jennifer Lawrence continued her “pop of red” dressing streak in a far sportier look than we’re accustomed to. The Academy Award winner took a stroll with husband Cooke Maroney and their son, Cy, dressed in a red High Sport hoodie, black flowy trousers, and black and white Adidas Sambas. She kept warm with a black skullcap beanie and shielded her eyes in a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses.
But what really sharpened Lawrence’s look was her outerwear: a black, double-breasted trench. The ankle length coat was a sleek addition to J.Law’s outfit, giving us a chic take on an athletic aesthetic. This logo-free hoodie is the latest in Lawrence’s growing red sweater collection. In what’s becoming something of her fall uniform she wore a red v-neck knit sweater with a lapel collar over a white tee, which she paired with loose black pants and an In the Mood for Love baseball cap. Earlier this month, she wore an oversized tomato-hued sweater, which she styled to hang off of one shoulder.
A committed fan, she even rocked the color on the red carpet. This past summer at the Cannes Film Festival, she took a more feminine, Old Hollywood approach to the warm shade of red, wearing an attention-grabbing Dior dress with a sweeping train and cinched waist (and, in true J.Law fashion, flip flops!).
So, while Tomato Girl Summer transitions into fall’s color of the season, Jennifer Lawrence reminds us that she is no bandwagoner.
